The city bills itself as the "Venice of America" but I don't know about all that. It is however, a pretty eclectic area with no shortage of sunshine or things to do. You can kayak through rich people's backyards, wander into a silent disco or find a coffee shop through a bookcase. What it lacks in mega-clubs & overpriced drinks, it makes up for with unique characters and some good vibes.
Fort Lauderdale is littered with waterways and channels, which can make for some great kayaking.

If you grew up in South Florida, this was the place you wished to go to on school field trips, not butterfly world. Its iconic-to-locals “Great Gravity Clock” is one of only three in the world and is just neat to watch work.
