Ft. Lauderdale

The city bills itself as the "Venice of America" but I don't know about all that. It is however, a pretty eclectic area with no shortage of sunshine or things to do. You can kayak through rich people's backyards, wander into a silent disco or find a coffee shop through a bookcase. What it lacks in mega-clubs & overpriced drinks, it makes up for with unique characters and some good vibes.

The Royal Pig is probably the best-tasting restaurant on Las Olas, because the food is cooked with passion and it shows. Their BLT, uses fried green tomatoes and pork belly instead of you know - everything that normally comes on a BLT. And thanks to the massive bar, the nightlife can always be found there.
